Apparently writing stories isn’t enough anymore. It’s not like when my grandmother put pen to paper or rolled a fresh sheet into her trusty Royal De Luxe. I actually remember doing typing tests on that thing. It took real effort to punch those keys. NOW IS THE TIME FOR ALL GOOD MEN TO COME TO THE AID OF THEIR COUNTRY…for some reason that was the sentence my brother and I had to type over and over again. I’m not saying we were brainwashed, but he did spend 20+ years in the Marine Corps while I worked in Aerospace Defense. So. Yeah.

But here I am decades later, telling stories like my grandmother did, just with a website, social media accounts, and a newsletter apparently required before anyone will take me seriously.

This website is my attempt to build a following of cozy mystery readers who might want to explore the fictional town of Blue Lake, Wisconsin. Picture the ubiquitous Midwestern town square: brick storefronts arranged around a central green, each building with its own story. And inevitably, there’s that grand civic building that’s been converted into something else entirely because small towns are nothing if not practical about repurposing their history.

My ten-book series will take you through the shops on Blue Lake’s square to discover the mysteries of the town’s people and the secrets the town itself. I chose cozy mysteries as the genre because it’s what I love to read, and I figure that’s as good a reason as any to spend years writing them.
